        Great question diabledemars!

I decided to take part in I’m a Scientist as I thouight it would be good fun! I love doing science, and being able to tell others about it, and I benifited a lot when I was a teenager from other people answering questions for me….so its nice to be able to answer questions for others now that I know a bit more!

It might sound a little bit silly, but the main benifit it has for me is seeing other people enjoy science and learn more. I hope as us scientists answer your questions you are able to understand more about the world and be more interested in how everything around you works – that makes you a scientist too 🙂

        Hi diabledemars,

I decided to take part because it’s a brilliant opportunity to get your research out in public! It’s nice to be able to tell people what you do especially when they are so interested. I’ve also been asked some great questions that I haven’t really thought about so it’s helping me look at my project in different ways, which is great.

I think it’s also pushed me to become better at explaining what I do, and why I do it which is making me a better scientist!

        Hi diabledemars,

I decided to take part in I’m a Scientist because it’s a great way to learn how to communicate science to different people. As scientists, we are experts in a really specific subject, and sometimes it can be hard to try and explain what we do to the public!

It’s really important that scientists can describe and explain their work in an engaging way because it will hopefully inspire other people to get involved.

Answering all of your brilliant questions has really helped me think about how I should talk about my research and what scientists do!

        Hey!

I knew someone who took part last time and they told me how much fun they had so I decided to give it a try! I also loved the idea behind it, that you guys can ask us any questions you want, related to water or not. I think it’s really important that you get to see scientists are just normal people looking at ways to solve important problems.

For me this experience is great as I’ve never done anything like it before. Answering questions in the live chat and online can be tricky as some of them are quite tough! A few have really made me stop and think. I have certainly become a lot better at explaining what I do to other people, so thank you!
