      I started working with Kerry Foods when I started the project I’m currently working on. When I was looking around to find out what research was available, and would fund me to do it there were lots of different options. One option was to work with Kerry foods, and I decided this would be a great idea as it means I can work with both industry and the university, and it also means I’m trying to solve a problem which they want fixed pretty quickly as its costing them lots of money and is bad for the environment…..this means if my research all works well (which currently it is) it shouldn’t be too long before they start using it in their factories. This seemed worthwhile doing to me as it means I know my research will have an impact rather than just be researched and then forgotten about.
